Hello out there! 

I realize that it was been over a year since I have posted. So sorry! 
I am still teaching in my music studio and I now have twenty students enrolled for lessons. Twenty!! I set that as a goal for myself this fall and I am finally there! I am so excited for this spring and my three new students that will be joining me this month. My twenty students include, fourteen piano, four guitar, one piano and guitar, and one flute student. Now my next endeavor will be finding a place in Glasgow, Montana big enough to hold a recital. Regardless, this is so exciting for to be thriving in my music education career. I am blessed with very talented students. I am honored to be guiding them along the way in their music education. I am so thankful to their parents for allowing me to work with their children and to have their support. I never thought I would have so many people interested in taking lessons in such a small area, but it is so needed! 

I will try to write on here more often so you can see what's going on in the Johnson Music Studio. It's hard to sit down and type it all out when I feel like I'm always on the run. Hello friends. 

Things are starting to slow down for us for the summer. I'm writing this in a somber mood because our host daughter left on Tuesday. It hit me all at once. We drove her to Williston and waited around the airport with her. It didn't seem real to me until she went around the corner to board. I kept telling myself, "don't cry… don't cry…" and I didn't. Until she got on the plane. It was like someone turned a switch and the water works started happening. It was awful. I mean I knew it was coming and I knew it was apart of the deal. They come and live with you for 9 months and then they go home. I knew that going in, so what did I expect, right? She became such a part of our family so quickly that everything was so natural. It felt like she had always been apart of our family. We gave her big hugs and said our goodbyes. After she left we had coffee and went shopping with a friend. That helped. Then once we got home it hit us again. Picture this. a young couple, in their late 20's had an amazing exchange student living with them for nine months and now she's gone. Now they are empty nesters and life is "back to normal". Well, the new normal was having her there… and now she's gone. I don't like this. I don't like this at all. Sigh!!!!

It will get better, but I still feel like crying when ever I think about her. Now we will just have to go to Portugal to see her. Here is the last photo we took as a host family. Gosh I miss her already… could you tell? 

Now I am focusing on finishing up a project from my former job. I was hoping to get that done on my computer today, but I ran into an adobe problem. I update adobe and the program for the project still said that it was out of date. So, I'll have to go to a different computer and finish it. Oh well. One more hoop to jump through, right? 

I have an interview for my possible job this fall and a hair cut after that. I need a drastic change to switch things up a bit. All a part of the transition process. 

We will be moving to a new place on July 16th and I can't wait! It will be in beautiful Fort Peck by the lake! Life is good! 

I started my summer job last week and I love it! We also have to down size quite a bit, which will be good. It's just stuff and if I haven't used it in a year I'm not going to miss it. My hubby goes to a training for his new job and I will have the house to myself… Maybe not so much a good thing, but we will both be busy. 

That is all for now. Change is it what it is. No matter good or bad, it's not always easy.

Hello! 
A belated May the 4th to you all… Star Wars anyone? ;)
It doesn't seem real that it is already May 6th. I see that my blog has had 11 page views. Thank you! My husband and I are currently in job hunting mode. Now we play the waiting game. "Waiting is the hardest part…" Name that tune!! ;)
We will see how everything turns out. It's all in control, but I like being in control. For some reason I think worrying about it will help the situation… maybe even cause a teaching job to appear… but it's not the case. I am the queen of worry, but it's hard to remember that everything happens for a reason, especially when you want something so bad. Anyone else have that issue? 

A little change in topic…
I'm not sure who is reading this blog, but if there are any private music studio teachers out there who come across this… I have a question for you… 
Have you taught a music lesson via Skype before? 
With the many advances that technology has made and will continue to make, I am seriously considering making this an option. I'm sure it can be done, but I was curious to see if there are successful lessons being taught this way. Please leave a comment with your thoughts if you feel so lead to do so. 

What is on your agenda for this lovely Wednesday? Currently it is a little rainy and gloomy outside. We just had some really nice spring… practically summer weather, and now it feels like a rainy day in June. We also had the day off from school today, which I am loving. I was able to have lunch with my mom and get a view things done around town. Later this afternoon I have rehearsal with another musician, a French horn player, that I am performing a duet with at a Mother's Day service this Sunday. The gift that I am giving my mom is the gift of music for Mother's Day. It's what she wanted. :-) I have another rehearsal this evening with my vocal duet partner, also my brother, for the song we are singing for the same service. I haven't sang in public for a while… I will probably be a little rusty, but it will be fun.
